I learnt how to fail forward in a workshop about how to structure makerspace and student learning to allow them the opportunity to explore and find success and learning in mistakes. Sarah does this type of hands on adult learning really well modelling what we hope to bring to our students. I recommend her workshops. I learnt about myself as well as some super cool tools for helping kids design solutions and make and break things constructively.
On first entering the Maker workshop I was a complete beginner and very unsure of what to expect. Over the course of two days Sarah guided me through a variety of experiences, opening up the makerspace movement in a fun filled exploratory way. The uncertainty of ignorance was replaced with confidence and the knowledge needed to integrate this meaningfully into our student’s learning experiences. Sarah’s knowledge coupled to her supportive presentational style can only be recommended.
I am still using so much of what we learned in the class!
Fun, practical and inspiring. Lots of great ideas to take back to the classroom and implement straight away.
Ms. Gilmore and Ms. Deos are incredibly knowledgeable and organised trainers who are experts at adapting training to meet the varied needs of their audience. I always leave their sessions with innovative yet practical ideas and revitalised enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
